Muscat, November 17th 2014 – As a result of the remarkable popularity and feedback from the first Speed Networking Event in April 2014, the OABC in partnership with Oman Arab Bank and Qatar Airways organized its second event to facilitate interaction between various businesses. Scheduled to take place on November 10th at Grand Hyatt Muscat, Speed Networking is designed to introduce all attendees in rotation in order to identify areas of potential cooperation.
Garry Friend, Vice President of the OABC Board of Directors and General Manager of Grand Hyatt Muscat, said, “Our aim is to bring businesses in Oman together and create partnerships by building an extensive network of contacts within a short period of time. Following the positive feedback and praise after the first event in April, we intend to hold regular networking events to match up companies and gain access to like-minded entrepreneurs that can assist in the development of businesses in Oman. Over 100 guests took part in the first event and we are aiming to attract more participants this time.”
Adrian Foster – moderator of Speed Networking event explained: “During the event, participants are split into two groups and sat in pairs facing each other. Each pair has no more than three minutes to talk and get to know one another before moving to the next table. After the event there is an opportunity for people to reconnect with those they wanted to talk to in more detail”.
OABC was formed to foster the development of commercial activity between the United States of America and the Sultanate of Oman. Businesses in Oman are invited to join the Council to exchange knowledge, share best practices and discuss business plans that allow companies to grow. Joining the OABC provides support and direct benefits for local businesses, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and multi-national organizations based in the Sultanate to ensure members are aligned to national policy and industry needs.
