The OABC, in partnership with Al Busaidy Mansoor Jamal & Co (AMJ), organized a  seminar on the basics of corporate law and finance. Titled ‘Survive to Five: Navigating Financial and Legal Aspects for Companies in Oman’, the seminar was delivered by AMJ Senior Associate Asad Qayyum to help new companies of all sizes establish the legal and financial frameworks required to achieve sustainable success.

OABC member 23 Degrees North received Oman’s 2017 Best Architect and Best Sustainability Project this October. The Dossier Construction awards continue a long line of firsts achieved by 23 Degrees North since its founding in 2011 by Nadia Maqbool, starting with Nadia’s achievement of being the first chartered female architect in Oman. Sustainability has been at the heart of 23 Degrees North’s passion for delivering world-class architecture that is both cutting edge and authentically Omani.

The Oman American Business Center organised an iftar banquet and art exhibition celebrating the talents of local Omani artists who overcame physical disabilities to create impactful works of art. The event welcomed OABC members and the Guest of Honor H E Marc J Sievers, US Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, and guest speaker Safiya al Bahlani, one of Oman’s most inspirational artists and motivational speakers.

The OABC hosted a seminar on Public Private Partnerships (PPP), with joint sponsorship by the Australian Business Group of Oman (ABGO) and a focus on Oman’s PPP goals and global examples. His Excellency Talal-Al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Planning, the organization behind the Tanfeedh initiative, delivered a speech on the topic, with additional speeches by Kalat Al Bulooshi, CEO of Oman

OABC members and their guests enjoyed a festive evening of networking and delicious food, including the chance to create their own tacos and burritos.
