OABC Tourism Committee

Connecting, Informing, and Driving Impact in Oman’s Tourism Sector

About the Committee

The OABC Tourism Committee, launched in February 2024, is dedicated to fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and advocating for progress in Oman’s growing tourism sector. As part of our commitment to promoting Oman as a premier destination, the committee serves as a platform for networking, information sharing, and impactful discussions among key stakeholders in the industry.

The committee is proudly chaired by Samir Messaoudi, General Manager of Sheraton Hotel Oman, whose leadership and experience drive meaningful initiatives and connections within the tourism sector.

Goals

Our goals are simple yet impactful:

  1. Facilitate Networking: Connect professionals, businesses, and policymakers within the tourism sector to foster collaborations and opportunities.
  2. Share Key Information: Provide members with insights on market trends, regulatory updates, and best practices.
  3. Provide Feedback to the right Stakeholders: Collaborate with government and private sector tourism sector leaders to identify challenges and opportunities, ensuring that the tourism sector’s voice is heard in policy discussions.
  4. Enhance Summer Tourism in Oman: Develop innovative strategies to make Oman a more attractive destination during the summer months.
  5. Attract U.S. Travelers: Leverage the U.S.-Oman Free Trade Agreement and OABC’s network to promote Oman as a premier destination for American travelers.
  6. Promote Sustainability: Support initiatives that drive sustainable and responsible tourism practices.
