As part of its enduring commitment to support the skill development of local communities in Oman, OABC announced its sponsorship of the recently opened Innovation Factory Center (IFC). OABC’s efforts will provide scholarships that will allow Omani students to become full members of the IFC during summer 2017 and to fully utilize the innovation hub’s digital fabrication and industrial equipment to turn their creative ideas into reality. Launched as a collaborative project between the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and a number of Omani inventers, the IFC offers a number of services including an innovation lab and the Sultanate’s first digital fabrication technologies open to the public. The center also provides technological and technical support to assist members in creating almost anything – from plastic phone-cases to space industry equipment.
