Ray Slanina is the economic and commercial officer of the U.S. Embassy in Muscat. Previously, he served as an economic and political officer at the U.S. Embassy in Georgetown, Guyana, and as a consular officer at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia.
Prior, Ray worked in the communications sector for 20 years. He started as an engineer, then he transitioned into program management and business development. His private sector career involved several technology areas; including satellite systems, large and small tracking antennas, and military tactical radios.
Ray has a degree in physics from Trinity University in San Antonio and an MBA from Redlands University in California. He is in Muscat with his wife and daughter.
