Samir Messaoudi is a Tunisian-American hotelier and the General Manager of Sheraton Oman Hotel. With over a decade of experience in luxury hospitality, Samir has built a reputation for exceptional leadership and vision. He began his career in California at Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay, later moving to the Middle East, where he held key roles at luxury properties, including Sharq Village and Spa in Qatar.
In 2020, Samir returned to Oman to lead Sheraton Oman. Under his leadership, the hotel has earned numerous accolades, including World Travel Awards as Oman’s Leading Hotel in 2022 and 2024, and Best Business Hotel by International Travel Awards in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, the hotel was nominated as Oman’s Leading Business Hotel and Oman’s Leading Conference Hotel, while two of its restaurants received nominations for the Good Food Awards by BBC Good Food ME.
Samir is known for his hands-on leadership style and commitment to staff development, resulting in a significant increase in employee engagement. He has received individual recognition, including being named one of the 101 Most Powerful General Managers in the Middle East in 2024 by Hotelier Middle East, GM of the Year (Oman) in addition to being featured on the GM Power List for 3 consecutive years from 2021-2023.
Beyond hospitality, Samir is passionate about social responsibility, leading initiatives like a partnership with the Oman Food Bank to reduce food waste and as a board member of the Oman American Business Council, strengthening ties between Oman and the U.S.
