About the Committee
The OABC HR Community, launched on 11th September 2024, is dedicated to fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and advancing HR practices in Oman. Powered by Takaful Oman, the HR Community serves as a dynamic platform for HR professionals, business leaders, and organizations to exchange ideas, best practices, and industry insights.
The community aims to support the professional development of HR practitioners in Oman, helping them stay ahead of industry trends while fostering a positive workplace culture and organizational success. With its focus on impactful events, networking opportunities, and knowledge-sharing sessions, the HR Community is at the forefront of empowering HR leaders and driving organizational transformation.

The HR Community strives to achieve the following key objectives:
- Foster Networking: Facilitate connections between HR professionals, business leaders, and organizations to promote collaboration and open discussions.
- Promote Learning & Development: Offer HR professionals access to valuable workshops, training sessions, and resources to improve their skills and leadership abilities.
- Create a Platform for Knowledge Sharing: Share insights on emerging HR trends, technology, and challenges to help HR leaders stay informed and adaptable.
- Support Diversity & Inclusion: Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within workplaces, creating more supportive and inclusive environments for all employees.
- Address HR Challenges: Provide a platform for HR professionals to openly discuss challenges and collaborate on solutions to enhance organizational success.
- Advocate for HR Excellence: Drive the implementation of HR best practices and give HR professionals a voice in shaping policies and industry standards.
Key Activities and Achievements
Since its launch in September 2024, the OABC HR Community has hosted several engaging events that have made a significant impact on HR professionals in Oman:
- Launch Event, followed by a presentation on Building a High-Performance Work Culture, September 11, 2024: The HR Community was launched with a successful event introducing the initiative and setting the stage for future engagements and partnerships. The first HR Community event featured a presentation by Mutheer Al Kalbani, Head of Talent Management & Development at Oman Arab Bank, on building a high-performance work culture, attended by over 80 HR professionals. The session provided actionable insights into cultivating a workplace culture that drives productivity and employee engagement.
- Crafting Family-Friendly Policies presented by UNICEF, October 8, 2024: The second event focused on the importance of family-friendly workplace policies. Sara Al Lamki, UNICEF Oman’s Partnership Officer, led an insightful discussion on the benefits of such policies, with participation from the Social Protection Fund, who addressed questions on policy implementation in Oman.
- HR Tech – Revolutionizing People Practices, November 6, 2024: The third event in the series, held at Oman Arab Bank centered around the role of technology in transforming HR practices. Marwa Al Kharusi from Ominvest and Dinesh Gagnani from Takaful Oman discussed how technology is reshaping talent acquisition, employee engagement, and data-driven decision-making.
Through these successful events, the HR Community has made strides in fostering collaboration, learning, and growth within Oman’s HR sector.
