Ali Daud is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the OABC, as well as Chairman and CEO of Daud Enterprises. He is based in the Sultanate of Oman overseeing various business operations in Oman, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, India, and Turkey. As a family partner of Daud Group of Companies, Ali Daud oversees business activities ranging from distribution, building and construction supplies, real estate development, construction, retail, and oil/gas services. In addition, the Daud family has extensive retail holdings and operations in the MENA region and India; Gourmet Gulf – a company representing YO! Sushi, California Pizza Kitchen, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Hummingbird Bakery, Panda Express, Texas De Brazil, Pinkberry, Shiro, Trader Vic’s, Hardrock Cafe, Azkadenya and Dalloyau, and Retail Arabia – a company with regional representation of Oscar de la Renta, Hamleys, David Morris, Pretty Ballerinas, Imaginarium, Marchesa, FG4, and House of Fraser Department Stores.
Ali is also the founder of Al Daud Restaurants, which is the Developmental Licensee of McDonald’s in Oman, in addition to various other companies including Al Amana, a construction material supplies company; Neem Projects and Services, an Omani holding company with JV partners from around the globe; Dover Corporation / Norris Production Solutions, an oil and gas services company; and Best Gulf Trading Company, a sales and technical support company for security and engineering products.
Ali’s early education was from the world renowned Swiss boarding school – Aiglon College, followed by his Bachelor of Arts Degree from New York University in 1988. Ali is the Chairman Emeritus of the Oman American Business Council where he has served on the board since 2004. Ali is also the Honorary Consul of Canada in Oman. Additionally, Ali has served on the Oman Tourism Board and is currently on the Board of Omanisation Strategy in the field of Hospitality and Tourism, created by the Cabinet. Ali has been married for 18 years and has two young sons.
