Firas Al-Abduwani, Board Member, is Founder and CEO of HTC (Hussam Technology Company). He has over 10 years of experience in building, developing and leading teams along a clear strategic vision with experimental development of operating models to achieve the sought end results. HTC has grown to be a reliable and innovative system integrator in the ICT and Renewable Energy sectors and has played a significant role in the Private Network market of the Sultanate with hundreds of customers, tens of thousands of network users, and tens of millions of rials of savings and value-added to the economy.
HTC, based in Muscat, has installed Oman’s first grid-connected PV system based on AER’s regulations. Firas had supported many US start-ups with investments from high net worth individuals and sovereign wealth funds in the GCC. As a firm believer in the social and economic responsibility of firms in their local communities, Firas strives to positively contribute in this respect.
Firas Al-Abduwani holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Delft University of Technology, a MEng in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt, a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, and is an alumnus of IMD and the National CEO Program. During the National CEO Program, Al-Abduwani was part of the Fisheries team who worked extensively on appropriate aquaculture models for the Sultanate of Oman.
